The Beat of the Valley is Hosting a March Jamboree & Fundraiser in Pawling

Sometimes the only way to survive the cold winter months is by hunkering down and planning ahead for fun spring activities.  March is here and the good times are heating up in Pawling, NY!

On Wednesday, March 6th WPWL - The Beat of the Valley’s, Jacque Roche hosts her 100th Show Jamboree and Fundraiser at Daryl’s House Club in Pawling! Show time is 7-10 pm with doors at 5 pm. Tickets are $15/$20 and can be purchased in advance at DarylsHouseClub.com  or at the door the night of the event.  For those unable to attend, the event will be streaming simultaneously on the station’s website found at PawlingPublicRadio.org.

Americana Music fans are in for a treat when two original, Hudson Valley Americana bands take to the Stage. There will be performances by Grammy-award winner, Rebecca Haviland and Whiskey Heart, www.rebeccahaviland.com, who will be sharing the stage with Artie Tobia Band, www.tobiamusic.com, whose recent album, “Driven” hit #2 on the National Americana Chart and is playing on radio stations across the country.

According to the Americana Music Association, the genre incorporates elements of country, roots rock, folk, bluegrass and R&B, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound.  While acoustic instruments are present and vital, Americana also often incorporates use of a full electric band.

Many music fans are not aware there is a public radio station broadcasting out of Pawling, offering a diversified range of live programming and recorded music.  The station, WPWL The Beat of the Valley is easily accessed at TheBeatoftheValley.com  or PawlingPublicRadio.org, and all are invited to visit the website. From Broadway, community, sports, news, comedy or music, there is a wealth of programming to be appreciated.
