Uncommon Ground is a band that makes its’ home in the space in and around the great American roots styles of bluegrass, blues, jazz, and old-time music. Their music is delivered in performances that are as warm and inviting as they are polished, and always in a way that directly involves the audience in the thrill of musical discovery.
Some of the Hudson Valley’s finest musicians are part of this talented group; they include Rachel Handman on violin, Mike Kobetitsh on guitar, Wayne Fugate on mandolin, and Phil Helm on double bass. The band has been performing together for years now; their musical landscape shifts from the Beatles to Bartok, from Latin to Jazz, and from Celtic to Swedish music. With thoughtful arrangements that reimagine tunes in exciting ways, they truly define their own musical territory.
Mahopac Public Library welcomes Uncommon Ground in concert on Sunday, April 7, at 2:00 pm; this performance is free and registration is requested. To register visit www.mahopaclibrary.org, or call 845-628-2009, ext 100.
