Space on Ryder Farm Mothers Day Plant Sale

Saturday, May 11th, 9am-4pm
Sunday, May 12th, 11am-3pm

SPACE on Ryder Farm is kicking off its inaugural growing season with a Mother's Day Weekend Plant Sale offering certified organic vegetables, herbs and flowers to plant, grown right here at Ryder Farm--including 11 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, summer and winter squash, salad greens, sweet and spicy pepper varieties and more. There will also be flowering hanging baskets, heirloom seeds and SPACE merchandise for sale. In addition to plants for purchase, SPACE staff will offer guided tours of the historic Ryder Farm homestead and growing fields, and there will be a food truck for picnicking on the lawn as well as activities for kids.

The plant sale also marks the re-opening of SPACE's roadside farmstand on Starr Ridge Road, which will be stocked with produce for purchase through October.

About Ryder Farm
Located on Starr Ridge Road in Brewster, Ryder Farm is one of the oldest continuously-held family farms in the Northeast, established in 1795. SPACE on Ryder Farm, an acclaimed nonprofit artist residency program founded in 2011, assumed management of the farming operations in 2019 following the retirement of Betsey Ryder, who has farmed the property since 1978. At a time when family farms are being lost across the country, SPACE is deeply committed to ensuring Ryder Farm is still farming in another 224 years. In addition to the plant sale and farmstand, produce from Ryder Farm is available through SPACE's CSA (community supported art + agriculture) membership program--registration deadline May 17th.
