Today is the 23rd anniversary of the tragic death of Michael “Satch” Neuner who died in the line of duty while battling a house fire in Brewster, NY as a volunteer member of the Brewster Fire Department. He was 35 years old.
Current Putnam County Sheriff's K9 Satch was named in memory of him. Officer Neuner had been assigned to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit before transferring to the City of Peekskill Police Department. His son, Michael, is currently a Deputy Sheriff with our Department and assigned to Road Patrol in the Emergency Services. We hold his family in our thoughts and prayers
