Byrne Memorializes October 15 as Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day
Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R,C,Ref-Mahopac) will be presenting a resolution which memorializes Oct. 15, 2020 as Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the state of New York. This includes, but is not limited to, miscarriage, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and death of a newborn. The official awareness colors of the cause are light pink and light blue. Promoting awareness helps grieving families receive understanding and support, as well as improves the education and prevention efforts which could ultimately lead to the reduction of the incidents of these issues.
The resolution will be presented with the Star Legacy Foundation and other local leaders in county government on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Star Legacy Foundation’s goal is to reduce pregnancy loss and improve care for families who endure these tragedies.
