Brewster Bears Continue Losing Skid: Lose Second Straight to Carmel at 2020 Putnam Challenge

This past Saturday the Brewster Bears Varsity Basketball Team traveled to neighboring Carmel to participate in the 2020 Putnam Challenge. Coming off of a 51-48 loss to the Rams back home, Brewster came in with a chip on their shoulder looking to avenge their previous loss and gain their first win on the season. After the first quarter, it looked as if that elusive first win on the new campaign could be in sight, but after Carmel scored several points in the next two quarters to turn the tide the Bears left with their fourth loss on the year by the score 55-40.

Junior guard Kobey Hart continued to show up for Brewster having a 15 point night to go with a supporting cast of scorers including fellow starters Christian Rhodes who had 9 points and Zachary Salvo who turned in 5 points. Besides points, Jason Borsari, Nick Girard, and Paul Catalano each spent time on the glass having four rebounds apiece for the Bears.

The Bears’ next game will play out on the sixth against 5-1 Pleasantville back in Brewster.
