New York Governor Andy Cuomo said at his morning news briefing this morning that he intends to close all schools in NY State until April 15th due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
As of Thursday night, there have been at least 44,635 confirmed cases of the coronavirus discovered in NY state with 25,398 in New York City alone . over 500 people with COVID-19 have died in the state, which has the largest number of confirmed cases in the U.S. One case was a Manahattan Nurse. The NYPD Reports losing its first member (a civilian employee ) to the virus as well.
Cuomo also said that the decision to close the schools longer then April 15th will be revisited at that time and they could be shut longer.
