Brewster Schools: Heres how to participate in Virtual School Board Meetings

The Governor has issued guidance which allows school boards to modify how they conduct
school business and also suspends the open meetings law:


Executive Order 202.1 Suspension of law allowing the attendance of meetings telephonically
or other similar service:


● Article 7 of the Public Officers Law, to the extent necessary to permit any public body to
meet and take such actions authorized by the law without permitting in public in-person
access to meetings and authorizing such meetings to be held remotely by conference
call or similar service, provided that the public has the ability to view or listen to such
proceeding and that such meetings are recorded and later transcribed;
In an effort to adhere to the social distancing guidance and comply with the modifications
above, the Board of Education will hold its next scheduled meetings utilizing the following
protocols:


● The Board of Education Meeting will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday
May 19, 2020 virtually via Zoom Webinar that the public can either register for and join as a view only participant

● Public Comment: In an effort to maintain public comment, we ask that anyone
interested in addressing the Board do so through this form OR by emailing the Board at
BOE@brewsterschools.org any time prior to the start of the meeting. Questions or
comments shared in advance will be addressed during the indicated portion of the
meeting’s agenda. To assist with managing this situation and while we are using this
platform no public exchange will occur through the live feed.
