The Mid-Hudson Region could begin phase one of reopening businesses next week so long as the number of deaths continue to decrease and the region meets Contact Tracing requirements Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this morning in his daily briefing. The number of new coronavirus related hospitalizations statewide dipped down to 225 on Thursday, he said. The number of people who died of the COVID-19 disease inched up slightly to 109 on Thursday which was four more then Wednesday. Those numbers includes 82 people in hospitals and 27 in nursing homes around the state. He added that construction staging can now begin in anticipation of the region meeting the metric requirements and that authorization to re-open sometime next week is approved.
