Arts on the Lake Arts on the Lake virtual Programs begin next week

Arts on the Lake Virtual begins next week. Join us and enjoy excellent art history explorations by Alex Shundi, a performance by the remarkable musician Jon Cobert and a night of readings and discussion by the Lake Writers. Additionally, we are strategizing about how to reopen our doors and outdoor space for certain events and classes and will keep you up to date.

In addition, Theatre Program Director James  Shearwood has posted on our Home Page the first of his recommendations for new plays written expressly for Zoom.

The Figure in Modern Art

Begins Tuesday, July 21, 7 PM

In this six part virtual lecture series, Alex Shundi takes us on a journey focusing on the figure in modern art.  "The human figure has been the principal subject in Western art since 50,000 years ago.  It is a study of ourselves, a mirror, really, and artists have used it to celebrate, study, and fantasize it, to damn it, accuse it and express love, as Gods and Goddesses, as demons and jesters, warriors and mothers, queens and paupers."  (Alex Shundi )  For more information on registering, click here.
