This year, the Brewster Public Library ran Summer Reading Challenges for all patrons, in three different age categories -- children, teens, and adults. Children up to age 11 were asked to keep track of the days they read on a calendar. After reading for 10 days, they were invited to send a picture of their calendar to the library, and after doing so, they received a $5 gift card to Baskin Robbins. Each day they read gave them an additional chance to win the Grand Prize – a Kindle Fire 7 (or a $50 Amazon gift card)! Our lucky winner in this age group was 7 year old Jade, pictured above with her reading calendar!
Teens and adults were encouraged to create an online account and log the days they read. They also received a prize after reading for 10 days, as well as a chance to win a Grand Prize for every day they read. Our teen winner was 15 year old Anna, who received a $75 Amazon gift card! Our adult winner was Ada Pardini, who generously opted to donate her $100 Grand Prize back to the library to purchase something for our newly renovated Children’s Room!
We’re thrilled that so many people were motivated to read this summer through this program! We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Friends’ group for providing funding for the prizes and making this program possible! Please consider donating to the Friends, or becoming a member!
