Brewster Lacrosse Player Chelsea Steere Signs Letter of Intent

Brewster High School girls lacrosse player Chelsea Steere recently signed a letter of intent to play collegiate sports next year. The senior began playing lacrosse in Brewster’s youth program.

A defender who has been playing the sport for almost eight years, Chelsea signed to play Division I lacrosse at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She plans to study Psychology on the pre-Occupational Therapy track.

“We have a super strong youth program and I was close to a lot of people who really liked playing so they got me to join too,” Chelsea said of how she got her start in lacrosse.

Through the years, she has made many great memories both on and off the field with her teammates. While her favorite Brewster lacrosse memory was the send-off team members got when they headed off to states in her freshman year, she’ll miss the little things about being a part of the Brewster team most.

“I will miss the team dynamic and the fun bus rides we had on our way to games,” she said.

Coach Sara DiDio is certainly going to miss her.

“Chelsea is a solid defensive player who understands the game and has grown as a leader,” said DiDio. “Last year, she was named one of our Captains as she stepped up in the offseason and showed her dedication to our program. Chelsea is always giving back her time and helping out with the youth program at clinics and events.”

Congratulations Chelsea! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication.
