Patrick M. Joyce, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital Center after a valiant battle against cancer. He was 78 years old.
Born on November 1, 1942 in County Mayo, Ireland son of the late John and Kathleen (Donohue) Joyce. On January 21, 1963 Patrick came to the US and settled in Bronx, NY.
At a dance he met the love of his life Eileen O’Connor. They married on November 9, 1968 at St. Benedicts Church, Bronx, NY. Together they moved to Brewster in 1994.
Pat was a carpenter who owned his own business KPJ Construction Inc. His handiwork can be found everywhere by his family as he built two of the family homes and did many renovations. He could do anything- plumbing, electrical and woodwork. Pat was a kind, gentle and loyal person. He loved his family unconditionally.
Mr. Joyce is survived by his dear wife Eileen, his daughter; Karen Gallagher (John Casavant) of Brewster, NY, his 4 grandchildren; John, Kevin, Frankie and Vinnie and his brother Seamus Joyce( wife Donna). He was predeceased by his daughter Mary Mazzola in 2018 and his brothers, Vincent, Thomas, and Michael.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church at 10am. Interment will follow at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster. Visitation will be held on Monday January 11, 2021 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-7pm. Due to COVID-19 restriction the funeral home can have 30 people inside at one time, you may be asked to wait outside. Masks must be worn inside the funeral home
