Obituary

Genevieve O. (Davis) Dudkin, of Altamont, NY, formerly Berwyn, PA and Brewster, NY passed away peacefully on March 3, 2021 at Loudonville Enhanced Assisted Living after a courageous battle against Alzheimer’s. She was 93 years old.

Born on July 7, 1927 in New York City, daughter of the late Salvatore and Antoinette (Manzione) Olivet. She was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School (Bronx) and continued her undergraduate education at SUNY New Paltz and her graduate degree in Education at New York University. She was a highly educated and self-sufficient woman well before her time.

Genevieve was married (4/16/63) to her first husband, Donald Davis until his death in 1976. She later married Oleg Dudkin in August of 1996 in Berwyn, PA.

She was an elementary teacher and a Staff Development Coordinator with the Putnam County Department of Social Services in Carmel, NY for several years before retiring. She enjoyed tending to house plants, summer flowers, reading and travel. She spent much time enjoying the beaches of New Jersey, Maryland and Jones Beach. By the time she could no longer travel, there were few countries remaining that she had not visited.

Genevieve is survived by her husband of 25 years, Oleg Dudkin, her daughter, Carla and her husband Matthew Reiner and their children, Kellen, Allison and Brennan. Also, she is survived by her stepchildren, MaryAnne and husband, Mike Fallon, Carolyn and husband Richard Smiles and Donald Davis Jr. She has seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Also, special in her life were her husband Oleg’s family, Betsy and Hank Neeb and Greg and Sue Dudkin and all their beloved children and grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday March 8, 2021 at 11:30 am at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Milltown Road, Brewster, NY. Visitation will be held prior at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 10am-11am. Due to COVID-19 the funeral home is limited to 50 people at one time, you may be asked to wait outside. Masks must be worn inside the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be left on this website and a recording of the graveside service will be made available after the service.
