OBITUARY: Michael F. Brady Jun 29, 1958 - May 2, 2021

Michael F. Brady, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at his home on May 2, 2021 after a valiant battle against ALS. He was 62 years old.

Born on June 29, 1958 Laurelton, Queens, NY, son of Lillian (Gomes) Brady of Brewster, NY and the late James J. Brady. Michael was a 1976 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Somers and received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from Iona College in New Rochelle.

Michael was an Information Architect with IBM in Armonk for 12 years. He was a devoted Catholic and faithful servant to the Lord. Michael was a lifelong parishioner of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, Eucharistic Minister, the leader of their Men’s Ministry, and active with the youth ministry in prior years. He was a member and past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus council #1495, leading his family and community in faith and service. Michael was also a Minister for Servants of God Fraternity of Secular Franciscan Order in Bronx, NY, always helping people in their faith journey. Also, he was a Stephen’s Minister, providing Christ’s love and care to people in difficult times. For many years, when his children were young, Mike volunteered with youth sports. He was an avid NY Mets and Miami Dolphins fan. For fun Michael enjoyed golf, playing men’s flag football and softball.

Mr. Brady was a loving son, beloved brother, wonderful father and truest friend! He is not only survived by his mother Lillian but also his children; Kyle P. Brady and his partner Tori of Brewster, NY, Bryana M. Brady of NJ, Evan M. Brady and his wife Vanessa of El Paso, TX and Conner J. Brady of Brewster, NY, his siblings; James J. Brady of Stratford, CT, Karen A. O’Brien and her husband William of Amenia, NY, Kathleen L. Brady of Williamsburg, VA, Jeanette Carlucci and her husband Mike of Danbury, CT, Timothy E. Brady of Stamford, CT, Andrew A. Brady and his wife Donna of Lancaster, PA, Peggy E. Brady, Brewster, NY, and John J. Brady and his wife Karen of Danbury, CT, his granddaughter Anastasia Rose and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by the many people he has touched throughout his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 6, 2021 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-8pm. Masks must be worn inside the funeral home.
