Irene Bayersdorfer, a 62- year resident of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at her home on Friday October 15, 2021. She was 87 years old.
Born on April 5, 1934, in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Richard and Irene (Scheider) Moore. On September 16, 1951, she married the love of her life Eugene Bayersdorfer. Eugene predeceased his wife on October 12, 1995.
Irene was an office manager with Dr. John McDermott in Danbury, CT for 17 years before retiring. She enjoyed nothing more than hosting celebrations and gatherings for her family and friends, as well as the friends of her son’s. She was always able to make everyone feel welcome. Irene was an avid Brewster Bears fan and was active in the Brewster booster club helping with the fundraisers for the football field lights. She enjoyed traveling the around the world and putting her green thumb to use with her gardening and house plants.
Irene is survived by her loving children; Eugene (Janet) Bayersdorfer, Richard (Susan) Bayersdorfer, Robert (Jennifer) Bayersdorfer and Kevin (Elissa) Bayersdorfer, her 6 grandchildren; Lindsay, Ryan, Kathryn, Shannon, Abigail, and Elias, her 2 great grandchildren; Brynn and Brooks and her sister Helen Hickey. She was predeceased by her siblings’ Richard Moore, Edward Moore and Rosemary Moore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 23, 2021, at 1:30pm at St. Lawrence O’ Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Turk Hill Road, Brewster. Visitation will be held on Friday October 22, 2021, at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-8pm
