Putnam Arts Council's Call to Artists for July Exhibition

A themed show, open to all interested artists 18 and over. 

You do not need to be a Putnam County resident, nor do you need to be a member of the Putnam Arts Council. 

 

Putnam Arts Council invites you to enter an original work of art following the guidelines

below.  Join in and connect with other artists and audiences from throughout the region.

Theme: Sports and Art 

The exhibition will celebrate the strength, grace, agility, and endurance inherent in sports, and the artifacts that support it. The Show will be juried for awards by PAC’s Visual Arts Committee. 

Eligibility:

Artists 18 years or older are invited to submit up to 2 pieces of original work created during the last three years. Painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photography, digital art, sculpture, pottery, and mixed media are accepted 

Submissions:

All styles, up to 36 inches in any direction for 2-dimensional work, 3-dimensional work must be manageable by one person. Work must be ready to hang, screw eyes and wire preferred. PAC’s Visual Arts Committee reserves the right to refuse work that it considers inappropriate.

Entry Fees for Artwork: $25 for PAC members, $30 for non-members for up to two pieces (non-refundable). 

Hand Delivery of Artwork:

Saturday, July 9th and Sunday, July 10th, 2022, 2 - 5 PM at PAC, 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac, New York. Please identify your work by including your name, title, and price (or not for sale) on the back of your art. PAC will accept works valued up to a maximum of $5000. Works exceeding that value must be insured by the artist.

Reception and Awards: 
Sunday, July 17, 2-5pm

All art will be exhibited in the A. Eric Arctander Gallery @ the Belle Levine Art Center, 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac, New York. Artwork will be promoted for sale through the exhibition.  Cash awards for:  Best in Show ($150), Second Place ($100) and Third Place ($75) will be awarded at the opening of the exhibition.

 Tuesday through Friday, 1-5 PM,

Programs of the Putnam Arts Council are supported, in part, with 

public funds from the NYS Council on the Arts, with support from the Governor’s Office and the NYS Legislature and with public funds from Putnam County.

PAC is located in the Belle Levine Art Center, a 4,000 square foot renovated dairy barn, once  the home of cartoonist Bud Fisher, of Mutt & Jeff.
