To All of our constituents and supporters in the Brewster Schools Community:
It was announced earlier today at a Special Board of Education meeting that Dr. Valerie Henning-Piedmonte has been chosen to be the next Superintendent commencing this August 1st.
In making this announcement, the Board wishes to thank all of the people who helped us in this process over the past several months. We also want to give particular thanks to our friends and colleagues from Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES, Dr. Lynn Allen and Mr. John McCarthy who developed and guided us through a very rigorous search process.
As a result, the Board feels that we have the person who best matches the needs of the District at this time. Valerie has an intimate knowledge of our Strategic plan as well as the key partners who worked with us to construct it. As such, she will enable us to have a seamless transition moving forward. Her philosophy of education embraces the growth and development of Every Child, values that we see at the very core of our educational Mission. As we look ahead to the future of this district, the Board is proud to have Dr. Henning at the helm.
