Dance Movement Therapy for people with Parkinson’s Disease

Joy of Dance is a dance/movement therapy group for people with Parkinson’s Disease. This on-going group meets every Friday, 10-11 a.m. at the Seven Star School of Performing Arts, Brewster, NY.  Marie Carstens is a board-certified dance/movement therapist with 20 years of experience helping people move more freely and fully in body and mind. She integrates movement with imagery, uses a vast array of movement qualities, rhythms and phrasing, as well as developmental neuromuscular patterns for support and coordination of movement with the goal of improving well-being and vitality as well as maintaining expressivity.

Marie invites you to move at your own comfort level and ability, as well as express feelings safely and playfully. Most importantly, this dance therapy group aims toward revitalizing ourselves while we dance together.  Come dance with us!
