Annual Tree Lighting Brightened Brewster Village

The Village of Brewster held its annual tree lighting ceremony this past Saturday evening with a ceremony on Main Street. The days festivities began at the Southeast Museum with a family magic show which was attended by more then over 50 people, many of whom were children along with their parents and local officials. Attendees  learned how to make their balloon dog!

Upon conclusion of the show the crowd proceeded to sing christmas carols in front of the Southeast Museum led by the Danbury MadHatters barbershop choir. The choir then led the crowd down Main Street to the Village Christmas tree located across from the train station and sang several more carols until the guest of honor, Santa Claus, appeared to lead the crowd in the countdown to the tree lighting.

Afterwards everyone was invited back to the Village offices where there was cookies and hot chocolate along with entertainment by the MadHatters. Many of the revelers remarked how nice the tree looked and enjoyed the choir and are looking forward to next year's ceremony.

Southeast Museum's curator stated, "Thank you to the Village Police Department, Brewster Flower Garden and Village Trustees for another wonderful holiday event!"
