NYSEG goal is 90% restoration by 11:45 p.m. On 3/6

 

The Office of Emergency Management reports that 16,741 Putnam County NYSEG customers are still without power. This is down from a high of 25,700.  Crews from NYSEG and mutual aid response teams continue to work for full restoration.

NYSEG has advised Putnam County Officials that they expect 90% of residents will be back on line by Tuesday 3/6/18 @ 11:45pm.

“This storm has left many without power and we continue to work with our utility companies to effectively restore power as soon as possible” said County Executive Odell.  Our highway crews remain on the job to support repair crews and make sure roads are safe for residents and emergency vehicles.

The following comfort stations remain open for 3/5/18:

  • Mahopac Firehouse located at 741 Route 6, Mahopac, NY.  The Mahopac Firehouse will also be providing meals from 1:00pm to 8:00pm courtesy of the Mahopac Lions Club
  • Kent Town Hall which will also have dry ice & water available, will be open 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • The German American Club in Putnam Valley NY will be open 10:00am to 10:00pm
  • Patterson Recreation will be open 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • Temple Beth Shalom will be open 9:00am to 6:00pm
  • The Knights of Columbus in Carmel where dry ice & water is available, will be open 9:00am to 6:00pm
  • Carmel Town Hall where dry ice & water is available 9:00am to 6:00pm

For Monday March 5, 2018 overnight shelters for individuals who can’t go to friends or family will be at Putnam Hospital Center from the hours of 7:00pm to 7:00am only and Garrison Fire House 7:00pm to 7:00am only.

For Tuesday, March 6, 2018 comfort stations in Putnam County will be available as follows;

  • Kent Town Hall will be open 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • The German American Club in Putnam Valley will be open 10:00am to 10:00pm
  • Patterson Recreation will be open 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • Temple Beth Shalom will be open 9:00am to 6:00pm
  • The Knights of Columbus in Carmel will be open 9:00am to 6:00pm
  • Carmel Town Hall 9:00am to 6:00pm.
