Join in on the summer fun! Spotlight Arts Inc. in Brewster, NY offers 4 different weeks of theatre camps and musical theatre intensive workshops for children and teens, ages 6 through 18.
Spotlight Arts' theatre camps are five-day programs designed to provide a week of light-hearted theatre and fun for ages 6 -14. While revolving around the theme of the week, students work on their acting, singing and dance skills while preparing a cabaret performance including duets, solos & full company numbers. The cabaret performance takes place on Thursday at 3pm. The first theater camp week will be “Enchanted Tales” on July 9-13, including scenes and songs from enchanted musicals such as "Beauty and the Beast," "Into the Woods," "Matilda," "Shrek," and more. The second themed week will be “Broadway Bound” on July 23-27 which includes scenes and songs from Broadway hits such as "Frozen," "Aladdin," "Wicked," "Matilda," "Newsies," "Hamilton" and more. “Friday Fun Day” completes each theater camp week with a fun-filled day of improv and comedy specials, dance, crafts and other theatre-related activities. Camps are 9am - 3pm daily at the Studio Around the Corner, 67 Main Street in Brewster, NY.
Musical Theatre Intensive Workshops are fast-paced 5-day programs that are designed to give students an intensive experience as a lead or supporting role in a fully staged musical production. Improve your singing, acting and dance technique while putting up a show in just one week! The first intensive workshop week will be the family classic, “The Wizard of Oz” on August 6-10 and the second week will be the current Broadway hit, “Once On This Island Jr.” on August 13-17. The sessions run 9am - 3pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Studio Around the Corner, 67 Main Street in Brewster, NY. The staged production will be at a local theater on Friday and consists of a complete performance of acting, singing and dancing with a script and score, costumes, props, and professional lighting and sound, including wireless microphones for each actor. The intensive workshops are open to students ages 10 - 18.
