Brewster's Gabriel Rush Wins Best Actor at the Young Entertainer Awards in Los Angeles

Brewster's Gabriel Rush was nominated and  won Best actor age 16-21 for Short film Category for "Far From The Tree" the The Young Entertainer Awards at Universal Studios Hollywood

Gabriel made his feature film debut in "Moonrise Kingdom" as Skotak, one of the principal khaki scouts working with Bruce Willis , Bill Murray and Edward Norton on his very first film. Other films include A Little Game Evan Oppenheimer, The Immigrant James Gray, and The Grand Budapest Hotel, reuniting Gabriel with director Wes Anderson. He worked on the award-winning movie "No Letting Go" a powerful and timely film about a teenager suffering from a debilitating mental illness.

Gabriel played Evan, the son, in "Far From the Tree" which the story of a strained relationship between a mother and her teenaged son, as she struggles to come to terms with a sexual assault from her past and how she ultimately finds the courage to confront it.

 


The Young Entertainer Awards Foundation is a non-profit organization that was created by various members of the entertainment industry who want to provide a positive incentive for young entertainers to perfect their skills, build a strong foundation of confidence that will benefit them, and even provides an annual scholarship to an individual or to another organization or institution assisting talented youth who might not otherwise be able to realize their dream.
