Services for Adeline Aversano of Brewster

Adeline Aversano of Brewster, NY passed away peacefully Friday May 11, 2018 in Mt. Kisco, NY at age 89. She fought hard to stay with us and will be in our hearts forever.


Adeline was born December 1, 1928 in East Harlem, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nicolosi) Urrico. She graduated from James Monroe H.S. in Bronx, NY, then married Jesse Aversano in Bronx, NY on June 14, 1953. Mrs. Aversano worked early in her career for Norcross Card company, NYC as a supervisor, then worked at Cardinal Hayes H.S. Then a career in the bridal industry as a sales associate at Marstelle Bridal Shop in the Bronx and later at Fontana Bridal Salon in Eastchester. In 2008 she moved to Brewster, NY. Adeline was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake, and an active member of Putnam Lake Senior Citizens, Catholic Daughters in Putnam Lake and the San Silverio Shrine in Dover Plains, and a volunteer at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Adeline had a love of life, family and friends. She had an infectious smile and personality that touched the lives of many people. Adeline would often be seen at her family’s restaurant Aversano’s in Brewster. 
Mrs. Aversano was predeceased by her husband Jesse on February 14, 1991. She is survived by her sons, Jesse Aversano and his wife Norma of Yorktown Hts., NY, Paul Aversano and his wife Carolyn of North Salem, NY, and John Aversano of Tarrytown, NY; brothers Angelo Urrico, John Urrico, Roy Urrico and a sister Stella Gaudio; grandchildren Jesse, Victoria, Nicholas, Jonathan and Sophia. She was predeceased by her brother Victor Urrico.


A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake on Thursday May 17, 2018 at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 16th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY. Contributions in Mrs. Aversano’s memory may be made to Relay for Life, Brewster, under Team Adeline.
