Brewster High School social worker Henrietta Lodge and 11th grader Charlotte Greene received awards Wednesday at the 33rd Annual Putnam Community Service Network Awards Breakfast.
Henrietta Lodge has been a member of the Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES Regional Crisis Team since 1999. The group offers assistance to school districts in the aftermath of crises like natural disasters, school violence or the death of a community member. The team received the Fred L. Dill Community Service Networking Award, which is presented to a group of community and human services agencies that collaborated to achieve a common goal to enhance the lives of Putnam County residents. Lodge accepted the award alongside BOCES Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lynn Allen, and social workers Karin Brenner from Carmel High School and Kathy McCarthy from Matthew Paterson Elementary.
Brewster High School junior Charlotte Greene received the 2018 Youth Award in recognition of her spirit of volunteerism and willingness to be of service to the community. Since the age of 14, Charlotte has volunteered with the Brewster Chamber of Commerce where she has shined as a leader, organizing, creating, and running activities including monthly events and meetings. She has also participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life 2018, Putnam County Youth Forum, Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, Brewster Fall Festival and many activities at Brewster High School.
