Christina E. Napoli Montella of Carmel, NY, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died peacefully on January 6, 2021 at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home. She was 99 years old.
Born on February 14, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late Mateo And Rosina (Orlando) Rodio. She attended Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, NY.
Christina was married to John J. Napoli until his death on April 18, 1972. Following the death of John, she married Frank P. Montella. Frank predeceased her on July 3, 2008.
Christina was a salesgirl at the Mays Department store in Brooklyn from 1968-1975. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Angels Church in Brooklyn prior to moving to Carmel in 2017. She enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning. She was always helping others and was ‘grandmother’ to many. Christina enjoyed many senior group trips.
Mrs. Montella is survived by her loving children; John J. Napoli of FL and Barbara E. Engelhardt of Brewster, NY, her four grandchildren; Jennifer, John, Amy and Matthew and her six great grandchildren; Ava, Maeve, Charlyn, Thomas, Sienna and Lydia.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday January 11, 2021 at 10am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Internment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, NY. Visitation will be held at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Sunday January 10, 2021 from 3pm-7pm. Due to COVID-19 regulations the funeral home is allowed 30 people at one time. You maybe asked to wait outside until someone leaves.
