Master Gardener Volunteers offer Scholarships to Putnam Students

High school students graduating in June interested in a career in plant science, horticulture, floriculture, architectural landscape design, forestry, botany, environmental engineering, agricultural and environmental education, majors that impact climate change such as sustainability, or any other environmentally related program are invited to apply for one of two $500 scholarships being awarded by the Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County, a branch of Cornell University.

Students must be Putnam County residents but can attend any high school or be home-schooled. Awardees must plan to pursue advanced education in a recognized institution of higher learning. For 10 years Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County Master Gardener has offered scholarships. Past recipients have attended programs in Environmental Science and Sustainability at Cornell University and SUNY Plattsburgh, Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy at R.I.T., and Wildlife and Conservation Law at Unity College.

Deadline for the application is April 30, 2021. All students who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply.
