Saturday kicks off THREE BIG SALES. All run Saturday: 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday: 9 am to 12 pm, so make time for each.

BARN SALE: The 30th annual, fundraising Barn Sale at the Sherman Historical Society. Come early for the awesome bargains, fantastic finds, and wonderful quality items (including estate donations such as original oil paintings, two matching horse hair chairs, two matching mahogany tilt-top tables, curio cabinet, antique brass bird cage, caned high chair and more!). Stay (or come back) for lunchtime hot dogs and beverages. The Old Store gift shop, which always has wonderful items in stock, will be open as well. The Historical Society is located at 10 Route 37 Center, with convenient parking nearby.

BOOK SALE: While you’re in the Center, check out the Sherman Library Book Sale. There will be thousands of books, organized for easy browsing, plus rare books, audio books and DVDs. The Library is at 1 Sherman Center.

TAG SALE: Just a hop/skip from the Center, is the Jewish Community Center Tag Sale, which always features a wonderful array of treasures! The JCC is located just beyond town at 9 Route 39 South.

All of the monies raised from the above events goes to support these worthy non-profit organizations, their buildings, and their many wonderful programs for- and services to- the community.

All these sales must close promptly at noon because Sherman Center closes to traffic shortly afterward for the 50th Annual Memorial Day Parade at 1pm. Our theme this year will be WWI and Suffragists.

We hope to see you for all the holiday weekend’s special events, but, most importantly, we hope that you take time to remember that we enjoy our freedom because of those who fought and sacrificed all for it. Let us honor all those who have served and serve today with our deepest respect, pride, and appreciation.
