Join the Friends of the Putnam Valley Library, and Science Teacher Fred DePalma, to learn more about what solar and lunar eclipses are,  what makes them happen, how often they occur, what effects they have, and how to safely view this one!

Using videos, models, and science-teachery, this  program is for the whole family.

The eclipse actually begins at about 1:15 and ends at 4:05 pm

Bring a folding lounge chair and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event with your friends and neighbors. Science Teacher Fred DePalma will be on hand to help explain what is happening as it takes place, and to make sure everyone watches the eclipse safely!

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Eclipse Glasses will be available for all participants at each program (while supplies last).*

It is not safe to look at the sun, even during an eclipse, without proper eye protection.

YOU CAN PERMANENTLY DAMAGE YOUR EYES!

Shielding your eyes with your hand, wearing sunglasses or other eyewear is not enough!

*BTW, as noted in the poster, Eclipse Glasses were available while supplies lasted…they went like hotcakes. Suncakes? We hope those attending the Monday Town Park Eclipse viewing will share!!
