A Day of Art and Activism at The Aldrich on March 25

Take Action! A Day of Art and Activism at The Aldrich on Sunday, March 25 from 1 pm to 4 pm

FREE

Join us in celebration of the power of art to inspire social change, and those artists who are taking a stand in the face of our current political climate.

  • Listen and respond to Lucy McClure, founder and curator of the Connecticut chapter of the Nasty Women Artist Exhibitions, while she speaks with fellow social justice advocates Sarah Fritchey and Debbie Hesse. Hear how they built an international network of artists united in activism. Panel at 3 pm.
  • Back by popular demand, experience the spoken word poetry of award-winning poet Ceez Liive. Performance at 2 pm.
  • Get creative with artist Jahmane in a mixed-media workshop empowering visitors of all ages to make a statement or champion a cause through art-making.
  • Engage with Ward Shelley and Alex Schweder on ideas about walls, art, and equity in their last day in residence on Your Turn.
