Happiness Workshop at the Somers Library

Everyone wants to by happy, but many cannot find their way to be truly so. In this workshop, Rabbi Laurie Gold and attendees will explore paths to happiness, including practicing forgiveness, gratitude, and meditation. They will also discuss some of the scientific, sociological and spiritual underpinnings of joy. This workshop is open to everyone and is non-denominational. Rabbi Laurie Gold is the rabbi of Temple Beth Elohim in Brewster, New York. Prior to becoming a rabbi, Rabbi Gold was a trial attorney, specializing in tort defense. Before she became the rabbi at Temple Beth Elohim, Rabbi Gold was a chaplain at several nursing homes in New York City and a guest rabbi on cruises. She has taught at Queensborough Community College, churches, synagogues and senior centers. Rabbi Gold earned a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, a J.D. from Hofstra School of Law, and a Rabbinic Degree from the Academy of Jewish Religion.
