Putnam County will hold a Ribbon cutting Monday, Aug. 31 for the grand reopening of the Morningthorpe Avenue Bridge, the pedestrian and cyclist gateway to the Village of Brewster. The bridge has been closed since 2007. In 2014 County Executive Maryellen Odell announced that Putnam County secured federal funding for the reconstruction of the bridge through the Mid-Hudson South Technical Coordinating Committee and the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council
