R&G Produce is coming back to town!

R&G Produce is coming back to town! This fantastic news was shared by Mike Miller, manager of the R&G stand that was the anchor vendor at Brewster Farmers’ Market formerly located at the intersection of Main Street and Peaceable Hill Road. Brothers Raymond & Gary Glowaczewski are the the owners of R&G Produce. Mike Miller and Tony Romagnino have worked for them for years, and have done a lot of legwork in an attempt to bring back the Saturday farmers market to the Brewster area & community. 

Mike explained that in 2017, legislation and local laws were drafted, voted on & implemented through the Town of Southeast. A new local law was passed & added to chapter #72 effective 01-01-2018 that allowed farmers markets. After finding a location as close as they could to the original one, they applied for the necessary license and permits. Thanks to Stuart Arbeit of Custom Spares, R& G will be renting their parking lot at 997 NY-22 on Saturdays.

This endeavor is not affiliated with the original Brewster Farmers Market that moved to Wells Park in 2016. For whatever reason, the Wells Park location did not receive the same amount of patronage and that forced some vendors to find other markets. In 2017, the Brewster Farmers Market was absorbed by the Hudson Valley Farmers Market, which is held on Sundays at 15 Mt. Ebo Road in Brewster. The R&G produce stand is separate from that endeavor.

At present, R&G Produce is the only vendor approved for the new market location. “The owner of the property did say if this year proves to be a success, he would consider additional vendors next season,” explains Mike, “Please do not under estimate us though. R&G produce will be bringing in items to supplement the lack of vendors. In addition to the staple of R&G Produce having the mightiest & freshest veggies, we will also be selling Fresh Breads & Baked Goods, Eggs, Honey, Fruits, Chickens, Mushrooms, & everyone's favorite yes, Pickles!!”
