Kindness Rocks Project at the Brewster Public Library

In collaboration with ENL teacher Gabrielle Lappe and her students from JFK Elementary School, the Brewster Public Library invites our community to begin spreading inspiration and kindness by participating in the Kindness Rocks Project. This project originally began as a pay-it-forward service project created by life coach Megan Murphy in hopes of sparking joy for unsuspecting recipients, by dropping random inspirational rocks for others to find.  Mrs. Lappe initiated the Kindness Rocks Project with her second grade ENL morning class, who in turn shared it throughout the school district.

On Tuesday, May 15, from 5:00-6:00 pm, Mrs. Lappe and her students will visit the library and will introduce the Kindness Rocks Project to members of the community. All ages are invited and attendees will have the opportunity to create a kindness rock.

The Brewster Library will be participating in the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a literacy based summer reading program for all ages. The CSLP theme this year is “Libraries Rock!” and the library plans to continue the Kindness Rocks Project throughout the summer. All materials will be provided during scheduled programming to decorate rocks, and patrons are welcome to place them in the new planting beds outside the library.
