First United Methodist Church of Brewster is holding their annual Spring Plant sale this weekend at 83 Main Street in Brewster, NY.
Friday, May 11 at 10am – 5pm
Saturday, May 12 at 10am – 4pm
Sunday, May 13 at 10am – 1pm or until everything is sold out!
Rev. Wongee Joh suggested coming today (Friday) to take advantage of the beautiful weather because there is rain in the forecast for Saturday. They have beautiful hanging baskets (half were gone by 11am!); vegetable plants including pepper and a variety of tomato plants; herbs; and hardy annuals such as geraniums and begonia.
The church does not make a huge profit on this event. “We do it mostly as a way to reach out to the community, to let them now we are here for them,” stated Rev. Joh, “It is a great time for me, as pastor, to greet people and get to know them. ” Members of the community have been stopping by to buy flowers for Mother’s Day, for graves and their yards or patio containers. The flowers and plants are great quality and last all summer long.
The flowers are certainly brightening up Main Street – so stop by before they are sold out!
