Chromebooks for All Students in Grades 1-2
We are excited to announce that JFK and CV Starr have recently increased their capacity of Chromebooks. This expansion was made possible through the Smart Schools Bond Act. Students in grades 1-5 are now equipped with one device per student (1:1). Students in grades 6-12 made this transition just over a year ago. This added technology will empower teachers to transform our learning environment to better harness the power of digital learning tools. This added capacity will better prepare students for the world they will encounter upon graduation.
New Options for Chromebook Insurance
New for this year - We are now able to offer a multi-year insurance policy for your child's district - assigned Chromebook that will be significantly cheaper and provide students with a FREE CASE. These policies will provide coverage for accidental damage, liquid submersion, cracked screen, theft, power surge, vandalism, and more. There is no deductible, and the coverage transfers to a replacement device. Families for whom the cost of insurance is a financial hardship should contact their child’s school and speak with the principal or school counselor. Please return your signed form along with a payment to allow students to sign up for these policies or pay for them online using My School Bucks.
