The ARC Putnam, which serves children and adults with disabilities in Putnam County has opened its new facility located at 571/575 Drewville Road in Carmel, NY. Previously headquartered on Route 6 in Carmel, ARC Putnam has been servicing the community for years at that location but found they needed to upgrade and expand. They acquired the Drewville Road location almost a year ago and have been renovating the location to fit their needs to best serve their clients.
On Wednesday May 23, 2018, the ARC Putnam held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Members of the community, staff and several local officials including Carmel Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt; County Executive Maryellen Odell; and County Legislators Carl L. Albano and Amy Sayegh helped celebrate this impressive achievement.
Also in attendance were members of the Chamber of Commerce from Brewster, Greater Mahopac-Carmel and Putnam County. Rose Aglieco, Brewster Chamber of Commerce Executive Director assisted ARC Putnam Director, Susan Limongello in cutting the ribbon to officially open the new location. The local officials and representatives praised the ARC Putnam staff and their Board of Directors for their work in the community and look forward to having them continue their mission to "empower individuals to achieve their highest quality of life" for years to come.
The ARC Putnam’s Community Programs serve people with a wide range of abilities. They help participants gain life skills and self-esteem while providing a place to socialize and develop leisure and artistic pursuits, as well as a base from which to explore and have fun in the community.
