Maloney Helps Hudson Valley Veterans Obtain $10 Million in Benefits

Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced his office has helped Hudson Valley veterans obtain over $10 million in earned benefits since taking office in 2013.

“Before I got to Congress, my father – a service-disabled veteran himself – instilled in me the utmost respect for veterans and military families. So from day one, my focus in this job has been on serving those who have served our country. I’m proud to work with our veterans and their families to get whatever benefits they’ve earned and deserve,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

Since 2013, Rep. Maloney and his team have helped over 1,800 servicemembers, veterans, and military families cut through government red tape. Hudson Valley veterans assisted include the Schultz family of Port Jervis, and Charles Parachinni of Walden.

“I would like to thank Representative Maloney and his staff for helping my husband when he needed assistance after being diagnosed with Leukemia from the Camp Lejeune water contamination problem. We were going through a lot of red tape to get the benefits my husband William deserved after his years of service. One of the Representative’s caseworkers comes to Port Jervis every month and I reached out to her and she put us in touch with the veterans’ advocate who helped us quickly and efficiently to get the benefits we needed,” said Mary Ann Schultz, of Port Jervis.

“I’d like to thank Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney for helping me at a time when I felt like it was a struggle to get my benefits. And I took a chance with the Congressman. I would have had to wait a year or two, and it was a last resort. I didn’t think it would work, but it did. If Rep. Maloney didn’t intercede on my behalf, I wouldn’t have gotten it,” said Charles Parachinni, of Walden.

Rep. Maloney’s office has talented caseworkers and veterans’ advocates who can help resolve issues with the federal government, including claims for educational, disability, retirement, medical, burial, spousal and dependents' benefits and correction of military records and medals. New York servicemembers, veterans and military families with questions about VA benefits, benefit applications, or case mitigation with the VA are urged to contact Rep. Maloney’s Newburgh office by calling 845-561-1259 or by visiting seanmaloney.house.gov.
