With counting continuing in numerous counties throughout Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said that as of 3:00 p.m. on November 6th, there are approximately 8,400 military and overseas ballots (UOCAVA), and 14,200 provisional ballots outstanding. The Secretary then announced Wednesday morning that officials will conduct a recount by hand of all ballots cast in the presidential race amid President Trump’s re-election campaign questioning the accuracy of the results.
“This will help build confidence. It will be an audit, a recount and a re-canvas all at once,” Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters. “It will be a heavy lift.”
The race in Georgia hasn’t been called for either candidate but Joe Biden has a 14,111 vote lead in the state as of Tuesday Evening. The winner will take the state’s 16 Electoral College votes.
