Environmental Law Enforcement Officers Endorse Byrne For County Executive!

This week the Environmental Police Benevolent Association (EPBA) has chosen to endorse Assemblyman Kevin Byrne for the office of Putnam County Executive.

EPBA President Matt Kruger had the following to say, “The Environmental Police Benevolent
Association (EPBA) has chosen to endorse Assemblyman Kevin Byrne for the office of Putnam
County Executive. Kevin is the current Assemblyman for the 94th Assembly District and has continued to serve with pride and integrity on multiple local and state committees for his citizens, his district, and New Yorkers.”

Kruger continued, “Kevin leads ahead with experience from his current office as well as on the
front lines as a first responder. He not only serves his community as a legislative advocate, but
has also protected them as a firefighter.

During our time speaking with Kevin and explaining the importance of protecting our water
supply and homeland security for over 10 million New Yorkers, Kevin agrees with and
understands the importance of his county citizens’ water, air, and protection of outdoor
recreation. Kevin understands how to bridge the gap, not only with first responders' community policy but knows how to ask for guidance and direction from his law enforcement community on policy and reform with his citizens.

With proud enthusiasm, we support Kevin Byrne as our leader for Putnam County Executive!”
Kevin thanked members of the EPBA and President Matt Kruger for their kind words and strong
endorsement. “These brave men and women in blue not only protect us and our public safety,
they protect our environment too. I thank the EPBA for this meaningful early endorsement. I
have proudly stood up for law enforcement as a member of the New York State Legislature and
will continue to do so as our next Putnam County Executive" said Byrne.

As a candidate for county executive, Kevin brings a diverse background of knowledge and
management experience from his time working in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Prior to his three terms in the state Assembly, Kevin worked in healthcare administration for
New York’s largest private multi-specialty medical group. He also served as a regional director
for the American Heart Association, deputy district director to former Congresswoman Nan
Hayworth, member of the Putnam Valley Town Planning Board, and was an emergency medical
technician for Westchester EMS as well as the Kent Volunteer Fire Department where he served
three terms as president. He earned a M.P.A. from Marist College where he concentrated in
healthcare administration and holds a B.A. from the University of Scranton where he majored in
history and obtained dual minors in political science and military science leadership.
Kevin Byrne is a lifelong resident of Putnam County and resides in Mahopac with his wife,
Briana (Messina) Byrne and their young son Braeden.
