Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for this Weekend

Oppressive Heat And Humidity Through This Weekend

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued an excessive heat Warning which is in effect noon Friday July 19 until 8 PM Sunday July 21

Heat Index Values Friday will be around 105 Degrees.

Heat Index Values Saturday and Sunday will be around 110 Degrees.

The highest Heat Indices will be in the mid to late afternoon.

The combination of the heat and humidity will increase and the risk for heat related health issues especially for the elderly and those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease, those working outdoors and other heat sensitive groups of people.

Suggestions:

Use Air Conditioning To Stay Cool At Home Or Go To A Place That has Air Conditioning.

Check On Vulnerable Friends, Family members And Neighbors.

Take Extra Precautions If You Work Or Spend Time outside.

When Possible Reschedule Strenuous Activities To Early morning Or Evening.

Know The Signs And Symptoms Of Heat exhaustion And Heat Stroke.

Wear Light Weight And Loose Fitting clothing When Possible

Drink Plenty Of Water.

To Reduce Risk During Outdoor Work The Occupational Safety And Health Administration Recommends Scheduling Frequent Rest Breaks in Shaded Or Air Conditioned Environments. Anyone Overcome Byheat Should Be Moved To A Cool And Shaded Location.
