Daily Covid-19 Update for Putnam County via the NY State Health Department

As of today, Saturday, April 4, Putnam County has 283 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases according to the New York State Department of Health's Covid-19 tracker. The department also reports that 93 people were tested in Putnam County on Friday and that 31 of those tests were positive, which brought the countywide total to 283. The State site does not provide a breakdown of towns.

Putnam County Legislator, Bill Gouldman from Putnam Valley stated on his Facebook page earlier today that Putnam County will not have a breakdown by town either today or tomorrow.

Governor Cuomo, at his daily briefing earlier today said that 2/3 of the individuals who have been hospitalized in NY have been discharged and that to date, more than 10,000 patients with coronavirus have been discharged.

Legislature Gouldman, in his Facebook post said, NYS has asked us to all wear some type of face covering to prevent the spread of this virus. Even if it is not an official mask to protect you from the virus, it will protect others if you happen to be infected without showing any symptoms. For more information and to learn how to make one go to the CDC website below.

If everyone continues social distancing, shelter in place when necessary, continue to wash your hands frequently and we will get through this together.

If you have any questions with issues related to Coronavirus in Putnam County, please call 211 and not 911.
