Putnam County Covid-19 Update for May 21, 2020

Putnam County officials have released their update on Covid-19 in Putnam County with a new format that provides more information on monitoring the reported cases. All information provided is as of 5 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

There are now a total of 1376 laboratory confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Putnam County and 36 of those cases are actively being monitored by the Putnam County Health Department. Fourteen cases are currently in Putnam County Hospital. The Health Department reports that 1339 cases are classified Released or "no longer Isolated/Quarantined" and 36 confirmed cases that have not yet been released from monitoring. "Released" cases includes cases that tested positive, were quarantined and monitored as well as possible cases that may have been exposed by a close contact with a positive case. No official government agency is actively tracking recovered cases at this time.

Residents between the ages 0-9 have accounted for 27 cases , the 10-19 age bracket has 51. The 20-29 year olds have 145 and 30 to 39 account for 231 cases. The 40-49 age group account for 258, 50-59 account for 287, 60-69 account for 180 while those 70-79 have 97 Residents over 80 have 92 cases.With 165 more tests administered yesterday, it brings the total of those tested in Putnam County since March 1st to 7,017

The percentage of cases by gender has been steady at 53% male and 47% Female.
