Putnam County Covid Dashboard Update for February 28, 2021 through March 4, 2021

Putnam County officials released an update on Covid-19 in Putnam County yesterday. All data provided is from 02/28/2021 through 03/04/2021, unless otherwise noted.

There are now a total of 8,620 laboratory confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Putnam County, an increase of 248 cases from the week ending 02/28/2021. 271 of the total cases are actively being monitored (but not yet released as 03/04/2021) by the Putnam County Health Department.  There are currently 9 cases in Putnam County Hospital being monitored and treated at this time

The Health Department reports that 8,349 cases are classified Released or "No Longer Isolated/Quarantined". "Released" cases includes cases that tested positive, were quarantined and monitored as well as possible cases that may have been exposed by close contact with a positive case. No official government agency is actively tracking recovered cases at this time. The county did not release a breakdown by age group.

The total of those tested in Putnam County since the onset of the pandemic is now 172,120 an increase of 5,602 additional tests in the last week. 

In the last week, 0 new deaths have been recorded due to the virus, bringing the countywide total to 86 according to the NY State Department of Health.
