Putnam County Covid Dashboard Update for March 5, 2021 through March 11, 2021

Putnam County officials have released an update on Covid-19 in Putnam County yesterday. All data provided is from March 5th thru March 11th 2021, unless otherwise noted.

There are now a total of 8,831 laboratory confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Putnam County, an increase of 211 new cases from the week ending 03/04/2021. 245 of the total cases are actively being monitored and 6 cases are in Putnam County Hospital ] being monitored and treated at this time

The Health Department reports that 8,586 cases are classified Released or "No Longer Isolated/Quarantined". "Released" cases includes cases that tested positive, were quarantined and monitored as well as possible cases that may have been exposed by close contact with a positive case. No official government agency is actively tracking recovered cases at this time. The county did not release a breakdown by age group.

The total of those tested in Putnam County since the onset of the pandemic is now 177,399 an increase of 5,229 additional tests in the last week. 

In the last week, 2 new deaths have been recorded due to the virus, bringing the countywide total to 88 according to the NY State Department of Health.
