Three stolen vehicles in Southeast last weekend - Troopers reminding public to secure their vehicles

The New York State Police from the Brewster barracks would like to remind members of the community to secure their vehicle properly.

The State Police have seen an increase of larcenies from vehicles and vehicles stolen over the past year.  Three vehicles, a 2020 Land Rover, a 2018 Audi A3, and a 2008 Toyota Prius, were stolen in the town of Southeast this past weekend from June 26 through June 28, 2021.  All three vehicles were left unlocked in the owner’s driveway with the keys in the car.

Please always lock your vehicle, even in your own driveway.  Close all windows including sunroofs.  Park in well-lit areas.  Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running.  Never leave keys, valuables, or personal identification in a vehicle even for short periods of time.

If you see suspicious or criminal activity, please contact the New York State Police at (845) 677-7300.
