Two Connecticut men arrested for DWI and possession of cocaine

On December 9, 2017 the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Noval Baez, age 35, of Danbury, CT, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, and Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and Scott M. Craigue, age 49, of Brookfield, CT, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration, a class A misdemeanor.
 
On December 9, 2017, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Troopers observed the suspect traveling on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast committing a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Troopers found the operator, Baez had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage.  The passenger, Craigue had what appeared to be cocaine residue on his nose, lap, and vehicle seat.  Further investigation found approximately 9.3 grams of cocaine.  Craigue was additionally charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration after refusing to exit the State Police patrol vehicle and threatening to kick Troopers in the head.
 
Baez and Craigue were arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  Both subjects are scheduled to reappear before the court on January 9, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.
