Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit Arrests
Two Teens For Sale Of Prescription Drugs
Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Town of Southeast man and Village of Brewster woman on felony narcotics sale and possession charges.
In September 2017, a deputy assigned to the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) developed information that an 18 year old male, and female, were involved in the sale of prescription medications within the county. The deputy was able to make contact with them and arrange for the purchase of Xanax pills on several occasions.
On December 21, 2017, members of the Sheriff’s road patrol took the male into custody in the area of his Southeast residence after a complaint of suspicious activity. While being booked into the Putnam County Correctional facility it was discovered that he was also in possession of 24 doses of LSD.
The male teen was charged with two felony counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and two felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, one felony count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and one felony count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree.
He was arraigned before the Hon. Judge Gregory Folchetti of the Town of Southeast Justice Court and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
On January 11, 2018, the female was taken into custody by members of the NEU during a traffic stop on Old Route 6 in the Town of Southeast.
