Patterson man arrested for drug possession including over 4 pounds of marijuana

On February 18, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Austin M. Hayes, age 24, of Patterson, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree with intent to sell, and Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd degree, both class D felonies, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, all class A misdemeanors.
 
On February 18, 2018, Troopers received a complaint of a vehicle blocking a driveway on Haviland Drive in the town of Patterson.  Upon interview of the vehicle owner, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain sight.  Investigation found Hayes to be in possession of over four pounds of marijuana, approximately 2.5 grams of concentrated cannabis, and $1,183 in U.S. currency.
 
Hayes was arraigned before the town of Patterson Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.
