Garage Fire on Easter Sunday in Putnam Lake

The following was posted on the Putnam Lake Fire Department  Facebook Page on April 2 at appoximately 2:40pm:

Sunday night (Easter) the Putnam Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a reported garage #fire on Kensington Rd (Putnam Lake). Upon arrival Fire Chief 23-1-1 Vinny Fanelli confirmed a working fire and requested mutual aid resources to assist. Firefighters were faced with a fully involved garage with exposures (other structures or property) on all sides. The Structure to the left, rear and right of the garage showed signs of heat damage along with the two vehicles in the driveway that also sustained damage. Wind was a major factor in fighting this fire. Engine 23-2-4 arrived and quickly stretched two hoses that attacked the fire from either side while protecting the other structures. Fortunately all of the residential structures were not damaged and residents were able to re-occupy. Mutual aid was summoned by Brewster Fire DepartmentNew Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department Company ABall Pond Volunteer Fire Company and Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services. Town of Patterson EMS and Patterson Fire also assisted at the scene. SERVPRO of Danbury/Ridgefield also responded to assist the homeowner with boarding up some damaged windows. Thank you to all our mutual aid partners for your assistance and a job well done by all!
